This year the show will be in the Hozhoni Art Gallery. The location allows for many outdoor pieces, and after the success of last year’s outdoor pieces (particularly a gi- ant interactive musical instrument) the Artists’ Coalition would like to see many more pieces in the garden.
The best aspect of the show for many is its ability to produce new local artists. “There’s always someone who comes in and looks at a piece, is inspired by it and says, ‘You know this is giving me a thought,’” says Mr. Frankel, “‘I think I could do something along these lines,’ and ‘I’ve never even thought I was an artist,’ and then invariably,
next year I see the people I’ve talked to and they have artwork in the show!” Applications are available online and are due April 15. The show opens May 2 with
entertainment by Circus Bacchus and a recycled material fashion show. flagstaff-arts. org/recycled-art.html
