April continues the bubbly trend of seasonal “effer- vescence.” The continuations of at least two of the personal planets (the Sun and Mercury) in Aries bring zest and vigor. Mercury rules communication and in
feisty Aries, brings the tendency to speak first and think later. Venus and Mars, now in calmer Taurus ground the Aries fire helping to work with the forward movement in lasting ways.
The month starts out with a humdinger of an intense combo of fierce planets and events. “Accountability” is the theme. Those who are brutally honest with them- selves about circumstances being highlighted now have bright chances for major increases in future happiness.

April 4 — Full Moon in Libra/Total Lunar Eclipse (also Opposing Uranus & Squaring Pluto) — Eclipses often bring sudden news and swift changes. The events that come from eclipses are often described as being “non- negotiable.” Both Uranus (the “nerve-jangler”) and Pluto (the planet of birth, death, rebirth, and regeneration) are in challenging angles to the eclipse and add incalculable degrees of powerful potentials. Since the eclipse is in Libra, which rules relationships, Uranus is in Aries, which rules freedom, and Pluto is in Capricorn, ruled by the task- master Saturn, this transit will bring many an uprising in the name of freedom, fairness, and accountability.
Many a soul will wake up one day during the early months affected by this transit (February-May) and de- cide they have “had it” with a certain situation and insti- gate the changes that they come to realize they “should have made long ago.” If you find you are in the position of the perceived “decision-maker” in your version of this situation, exercise caution with how you handle moving forward with the changes.
When someone awakes to feeling they have been “tak- en advantage of” or “unappreciated,” usually it isn’t long before anger takes over. Making decisions from an angry, extremely charged space, or responding with blame or aggression towards someone aren’t the best ways to use this energy. Recognizing that dynamics between people always involve the behavior of both people, even if it seems that one has more of the overt behavior, instills the place of accountability for co-creation of the circum- stances. It is from this place of accountability, that we be- come empowered in making a different choice that will improve our circumstances. For every enablee there is an enabler. This combination of transits is the type that will jolt many an enabler awake and into determined action.
A carry-over from the theme of the Uranus-Pluto squares that occurred between 2012 and March 2015, we see that we often have more power than we thought, especially when it is used with best intention. There will be many who will experience the energy of these transits as “victims,” feeling that someone is “doing something to them.” If you find you are having that experience, you may have been riding in the enablee end of a dynamic. Try to look for the truth in your behavior behind what the seeming“tyrant”isaccusingyouof. Askthequestion,“do you want to be right, or happy?”
April 8 — Jupiter Direct in Leo — The planet of ex- pansion has been resting since early December and now starts to purr with forward movement. Where this planet
is involved, things get big, fast, and with the fire frenzy that preceded the retrograde, the resting time gave some necessary focus on the small details that make up the big picture. From now through August 11, Jupiter’s potentials shine bright in fellow fire sign, Leo. Jupiter rules fiery Sag- ittarius and riles up its elemental counterparts. Jupiter’s challenge is excess, so now, fresh off of rest, the lessons of
“too much,” having been learned before the retrograde are fresh in mind and the full glory of the brilliant Jupiterian potentials of luck, perfect expansion, benevolence, opti- mism, growth, abundance, joy, higher knowledge, wisdom, and understanding can take root. How we experience Ju- piter transits depends on where in the personal chart Jupi- ter is moving and what other planets or chart placements it is aspecting, but there are also global potentials we can look for without knowing the personal chart. The above- mentioned effects of Jupiter globally have the potential to manifest through the energies ruled by the sign Jupiter is now in, Leo: children, creativity, games, hobbies, self-ex- pression, fun, passion, romance, and “true love.”
April 16 — Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn — Every- thing Plutonian in nature is more natural and pronounced in retrograde, as Scorpio, the sign it rules, is all about go- ing in and deep. The best tagline for Pluto retrograde is
“Time for internal house cleaning.” So from now through September 25 prepare the internal version of your brooms, dustpans, cleaning rags, sponges, plungers, dusters, hoses, vacuums, mops, and especially cleaning gloves because as we see when we are trying to deep clean, things usually worsen before they get better. Some effective methods to use at this time are internal cleanses, diets, psychological counseling or other practices, such as meditation, retreats, time in nature, and anything else that carries the energetic signature of regeneration.
April 18 — New Moon in Aries/First New Moon of the Astrological New Year — Wow! This is it! This is the best day of the whole year, besides your birthday, to do a vision- board or otherwise focus on what you want to create in the next year. Focus your 10 New Moon wishes around things
“Aries” including: New beginnings, self-focus, courage, in- dependence, authenticity, child-like wonder, self-image, image presented to the world, pioneering, trailblazing, as- sertiveness, your physicality, exploration, autonomy, lead- ership, strength, vigilance, boldness, anger, arguing, impa- tience, and any health issue related to parts of the head and face (acne, eyes, brain and neurological system, hair).
April 21-22 — Mercury in Taurus Conjunct Mars in Taurus Trine Pluto in Capricorn — This is an awesome time for strategizing. Powerful mental engagement brings great results, especially when there is a focus on camara- derie and equality.
April 22 — Venus in Gemini Sextile Jupiter in Leo —
The energetic signature of this combo is ease, flow, and lightness in all things involving love, money, and appear- ance.
