“It is a beautiful world we live in, but it is also very tragic and it is hard to always reside in a state of peace and connectedness. It is hard to take the ‘self’ out of our lives. That is why we need tools, that is why we need to practice and make it a priority. Otherwise, we as hu- mans will just keep creating the same world over and over in different time periods and eventually we will destroy our precious plan- et. We so get attached to ‘things.’ We cling to beliefs, to people, to youthful beauty and we hang on to the past and to painful experi- ences. We resist the free flowing life force that is transforming and changing in every single moment. When we hang on, we can’t accept the gifts of life that are always available to us. We are trying to dam the river, but it causes so much unhappiness and disease. Can’t we just let go?
“I am so blessed to have my art to assist me and to remind me that I am on a journey back to my true nature. I dedicate my art, every day for the higher good. We are all in this to- gether. We can do it. We can let go and jump in. It’ll be fun! It will be like a river trip — we will soon find ourselves effortlessly floating along in the stream of life.”
Charged by creativity, Ms. Fareio is excited for her upcoming art events. “Come Septem- ber, I will be participating in the First Friday ArtWalk,”shesays. “Myartwillbedisplayedin Carolyn’s beautiful new space at West of the Moon. The title of the show is ‘Our True Na- ture.’” EricaFareio.com

BOULDER FIELDS
Using an organic and intuitive process painter Raina Gentry’s intricate ink and acrylic paintings come to life with colors, lines and layers. She fills the canvas with color, and chooses colors that call to her in the present moment. That first layer of paint that covers her canvas may serve simply to be under- workings covered in fresh layers of paint, or it may remain in the final composition. The art- ist uses many layers and feels each one plays a role in the evolution of her painting.
Ms. Gentry has lived in various locations throughout Arizona; Prescott in the 1990s where she attended Prescott College and taught rock climbing for four years, Tucson where she received a Bachelors of Arts at the
