August 2017 ~ Eclipse BOOM
Eclipses tend to bring major trajectory changes. ‘Non-negotiable’ events occur swiftly bringing dramatic endings and dizzying new beginnings. Portals of experience close as others open, often bringing a frenzy of busyness that detracts from having the time to process the changes.
This month’s eclipses continue in the polarity of Leo/Aquarius, which started ear- ly in 2017 and run into 2019. To better understand the personal potentials of this eclipse cycle, think back to 2008-2009 when this polarity of eclipses last occurred. The themes and areas of life that took center stage during that period of time will likely have rolled into the forefront again this year. This may or may not have any likeness to the lessons from the market collapse, as I believe most of the astrological impetus for it was Pluto moving into Capricorn at that time. However, many ancil- lary questions brought up at that time are definitely related to the Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle, and those will reappear as general themes.
The general potentials from the Leo side of the equation will include major themes involving conception, pregnancy, childbirth, childrearing, relationships with children, creative projects, creativity in general, acting/directing, modeling, atheletics, leadership, taking center stage, being out in front of others, fun, leisure, hobbies, and romance/true love. On the Aquarius side of the experience, potentials themes involving teams, friends, acquaintances, groups/social circles (including on- line), large organizations, humanitarian efforts, communities/community projects (in person or online), and other things for the ‘greater good’ are likely to come up.
A common theme that bridges both polarities involves personal will/creativity vs. societal norms. For instance, the idea of people not following the ‘status quo’ with investing and other such topics, and instead following their passions and joy will definitely be up again for revaluation, and the theme of restructuring large organi- zations and community infrastructure (both geographically defined communities and online communities) will be especially relevant.
The law of physics that says matter cannot be created or destroyed, it just changes form, is very obviously at play during eclipse cycles. As previous experiences, peo- ple, beliefs, ways of being are eclipsed out, new experiences, relationships (or new versions of previous relationships), viewpoints, and understandings are brought in with equal weight replacing what’s left.
Sweet vibrations roll in during the times around: August 10,11, 12, 13, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26. Discomfort or heavy energy is more likely in the days around: August 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 24, 25, 26.

** Note: often the effects of planetary transits are felt before or after the actual day the transit occurs.
August 2-3 — Uranus Retrograde in Aries — The bringer of (often chaotic) change and upheaval takes a rest from making ruckuses until November 22, 2017. Change and enlightenment are still on the agenda for Uranus but often more inter- nal than external in the retrograde motion, at least the changes that are related to Uranus’ transit. The Eclipses will still be bringing plenty of their own changes.
August 4 — Jupiter in Libra Square Pluto in Capricorn — This is the third and final pass of this challenging transit. The first occurred 11/24/16, and the second on 3/30/16. The story will likely include major movement out into the public view. This transit often creates great impetus to do something big and also holds the blocks to that accomplishment that have to be worked through. There is an increased chance for obsessiveness with reaching the goal that could cloud discernment. Competi- tion is a common theme here. An affirmation I shared during the last pass in March may be perfect to continue to use as this story concludes, it is inspired by the great Florence Scovel Shinn — There is no competition on the spiritual planes. Staying true to a higher truth and sharing what comes through you, clearing blocks that are coming between you and that expression, is a wonderful, high-vibe way to maxi- mize this transit.
August 7 — Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 15° of Aquarius — The story of en- ergetic reshuffling that started in the beginning of 2017 continues with this new chapter bringing endings, culminations, fruitions, notable changes to the area of life ruling friends, social circles, internet-based projects, humanitarian efforts, groups, teams, and organizations. For many this could also manifest as a shift in willingness to abide by social norms and expectations, and instead opening up more focus on

individual interests and creative efforts. This event also opposes Mars, increasing the likelihood of a conflicted ending or shift in direction. A simultaneous sextile with Saturn brings rewards for hard work and movement towards building pres- ent and future security. An additional trine with Jupiter expands the growth po- tentials and beckons faith in the change.
August 10 — Mercury in Virgo Sextile Venus in Cancer — Carrying through with necessary duties foster strong emotional connections with this combination.
August 11-12 — Venus in Cancer Trine Neptune in Pisces — This is a great time for quiet personal pursuits. Important messages from Spirit may be easier to hear right now.
August 12-13 — Mercury Retrograde at 11° of Virgo — The odds that weak links in communication and mobility (including devices for communication and modes of transportation) are revealed now and increase tremendously. Projects, people, and ideas from the past roll in to be reconsidered. It isn’t the best time to decide what to do with these possibilities with long-term decisions but following the flow objectively can be beneficial at this time. If decisions have to be made, short-term arrangements that are a prelude to the longer commitment are help- ful bridges to give time for still hidden information to come to light.
August 13 — Sun in Leo Trine Saturn in Sagittarius — Desires receive en- thusiastic support at this time. Creativity flows in ways that serve practical needs.
August 15 — Venus in Cancer Opposing Pluto in Capricorn — Relationships and finances are tested with Pluto, “the atomic bomb,” in a challenging angle. The material realms conflict with the emotional as the likelihood of someone not us- ing their power wisely increases with this transit.
August 20 — Sun in Leo Trine Uranus in Aries — Sudden insights and exhila- rating experiences often come with this transit.
August 21 — New Moon Solar Eclipse at almost 29° of Leo — This second New Moon in Leo in a row is also a Solar Eclipse. Major openings occur in the ar- eas of children, creativity, athleticism, acting/directing/modeling, pleasure, hob- bies, fun, romance, and true love. A simultaneous trine with Uranus and trine with Saturn bring both happy surprises and potential for great stability and long-term gains. This is a truly magical New Moon with massive potential for positive trans- formation.
August 22 — Mars in Leo Trine Saturn in Sagittarius — Action and out- comes blend beautifully with this aspect. Bold action brings long-term gains to- wards major goals.
August 23-24 — Venus in Cancer Trine Chiron in Pisces — Emotional inner work gets a boost at this time. Chiron in a positive angle like this supports vulner- ability as a strength.
August 24 — Venus in Cancer Square Uranus in Aries — The bringer of change in feisty expression in Aries makes an uncomfortable angle to love, mon- ey, and aesthetics. Venus in Cancer suggests likely emotional repercussions from the jostling.
August 25 — Saturn Direct at 21° of Sagittarius — Our break from Saturn’s stern eye and lengthy to-do lists is over as it turns direct now. Saturn has been working for years to help willing individuals bring their big dreams to fruition, telling the story about how discipline and consistency can streamline efforts and serve as the keys to major manifestations. Saturn’s movement through Sagittarius has also been a serious faith-tester. It has weighed heavily on optimism and belief systems, ensuring that beliefs held have long-term potential to create a fulfilling life. Commitment through the rest of the year to hard work and diligence will bring great returns soon.
August 26 — Sun in Virgo Conjunct Mercury in Virgo — The sun infuses mercury with extra oomph. Attention to details is critical at this time, and the ca- pacity to give this type of focus is expanded. Unwelcome criticism can also come with this transit. Keep your head up. This too shall pass.
