DECEMBER 2013 Taming the Shrew
The first three weeks of December carry so many gorgeous transits! Coherent star formations combined with the gigan- tic fun of the many Sagittarius energies bring awesome poten-
tials for sweetness, flow, and feeling good. Make the most of this and deeply ENJOY!!
I am an optimist by nature and approach astrology in a “what can I find good and helpful about this” way, so although I can’t sugar coat the beastly potentials of the end of the month, I can and will help you understand them better and make some sug- gestions as to manage them and use them in the most graceful and productive ways.
Any weak spots in people and situations will be revealed. I’m sure you are very familiar with the feeling of tension build up and the perpetual cycle of tension build up and release. This is life. It isn’t good or bad, it just is. The best way to summarize the transits the last week of the month is major tension build up and major release, coupled with unexpected occurrences.
To set yourself up for the best holiday experience regardless of how these potential challenging transits manifest, have a plan to release as much tension and stress before the holidays.
To better grasp this energy imagine how you feel after a mas- sage, a hot tub, or are otherwise relaxed and in a good mood. Then imagine someone does something supremely annoy- ing. You are likely more apt to let it slide. Whereas if you have been driving through traffic after working all day, or otherwise stressed, on edge and barely keeping it together, that same provocation could set you off into a dramatic display. The goal for the end of month is to simulate the after-massage scene as much as possible.
Some ideas to implement throughout the month: Step up your exercise routine. Start meditating. Learn about and em- ploy conscious breathing. Walk or stand barefoot on the earth (don’t underestimate this free & powerful technique for keep- ing energy balanced). Deal with unresolved emotional triggers, especially around people, potential situations you may come across at holiday time.
An awesome resource to help you shift unresolved energy that comes up in the form of negative patterns of experience is Radi- cal Forgiveness by Colin Tipping. The author has helped count- less people move through the trauma of past events that had continued to be triggered in current life. He has also used his technique, which is outlined in the book, to help many people cure themselves of cancer and other health maladies.
DATES TO NOTE:
** Sometimes the effects of planetary transits are felt before or after the actual day that the transit occurs.
December 3 — New Moon in Sagittarius — Make your New Moon Wishes! Especially on Sagittarian subjects like, teaching, learning, travel, publishing, broadcasting, writing, speaking, dif- ferent languages, different cultures, different countries, religion, philosophy, and spirituality. And Mercury in Scorpio Sextile Mars in Virgo — Awesome combo of super, clear mental agility combines with right action.
December 4 — Mercury enters Sagittarius — Be ready to have your ear talked off or going hoarse from chattiness. BIG expressions, ideas, and plans are discussed.
December 6 — Mercury in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces — Avoid signing paperwork or committing to an agree- ment where details seem nebulous or you feel otherwise unsure.
December 7 — Mars enters Libra — Action becomes cen- tered around relationships and aesthetics. Great intellectual dis- cussion could be helpful if it results in action but the tendency to get lost in intellectualizing is strong now.
December 10 — Mercury in Sagittarius Trine Jupiter in Aries — An interesting offer comes in, which may involve travel, teaching, or learning.
December 12 — Jupiter in Cancer Trine Saturn in Scorpio 40 • DECEMBER 2013 • the NOISE arts & news • thenoise.us

— A beautiful balance between managing responsibilities and enjoying the fruits of your labor.
December 17 — Full Moon in Gemini — Something comes to completion or fruition. ‘Letting go’ ceremonies are great now. And Uranus Direct in Aries — Bringing liberation from a deep-seated issue that you have been working with over the retrograde cycle. For many that issue would have been centered around the topic of “Freedom.”
December 21 — Venus Retrograde in Capricorn (through Jan. 31, 2014) — Deep introspection regarding self- worth, accountability, responsibility, femininity, relationships, money, material things, aesthetic values, and more. Usually not the best time to proactively look for new responsibilities to commit to, plastic surgery, or new business launches. And Sun enters Capricorn — The bigness of the Sun in Sagit- tarius transit condenses down to necessary action items. Re- sources are reviewed and allocated in practical ways. Also Winter Solstice — The shortest day of the year. Rest in the stillness of this powerful day. Embrace the darkness and re- member the light is returning more every day from now on.
December 24 — Mercury enters Capricorn — The big Sagittarius ideas that make it until now have a better chance of grounded creation. Write a list of all the things that have to happen to bring your dream to life. And Sun in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces — Great time to get into a major
“self-help” book, class, or course. This will also be a good idea to help you make sense out of the upcoming transits.
December 25 — Mars in Libra Opposing Uranus in Ar- ies — Independence could feel threatened at the slightest provocation creating emotional explosions. Many experienc- es exploring the topic of autonomy could come up in not-so- graceful ways. If you are spending holidays with family, one false move could bust up all of the festivities. Try to walk and breath it off rather than reacting and wait for more clear stars to put a plan together that will work on the causal issue.
December 26 — Mercury in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces — This could be a prolific time in the art studio. In- tuition is strong. Bridges from intangible realms to tangible manifestations are likely.
December 29 — Sun in Capricorn Conjunct Mercury in Capricorn — Your words and other expressions have more power now. Consider using them to lift into the light the many issues brought up by the transits in this week. Also Mercury in Capricorn Square Uranus in Aries — Have your journal ready to record flashes of insight. A great time to channel amazing ideas but without keeping track of them for a less scattered time, they could be lost forever. And Sun in Capricorn Square Uranus in Aries — Expect the unex- pected. Keep intake of sugar, caffeine, and any other psycho- tropic substance low or absent to help you be most centered regardless of what happens.
December 30 — Mars in Libra Square Pluto in Cap- ricorn — Control issues flare up during this time. Feeling powerless, exerting power, the story of “victim” and “tyrant” is popular now.
December 31 — Mercury in Capricorn Conjunct Pluto in Capricorn —A brilliant time for deep research and con- versation. Great time to curl up with a mystery novel or go on a Netflix mystery series bender. And Mercury in Capricorn Square Mars in Libra — This energy that brings quick-wit- tedness can also bring arguments. Be cautious with how you express unresolved rage, even if it is rightly placed. Definitely get a designated driver for any festivities involving alcohol, or if emotions are running high.
