Film and art take the Stage
On Saturday, December 5 at 6:30PM the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival and Mountain Sports Flagstaff will be holding a one-night art and film event at the Or- pheum Theater.
The evening will feature three short films Walter and Half Life directed by Justin Clifton, and A Story of Place directed by Sinhue Xavier and Mr. Clifton. Craig Childs will give a glimpse into his upcoming book with a multimedia presentation.
Live art presentation and film Drawn will be the featured event of the evening. Jeremy Collins and James Q. Martin’s Drawn has already received awards at film festivals: the Creative Excellence Award at 5Point Film Festival, the Jury Award at Wild &Scenic, and Best of Festival at the Barcelona International Film Festival. The last First Friday ArtWalk of 2015 on December 4 features the work of Emma Gardner at the Indigo Art Market held at the Green Room. Ms. Gardner paints skele- tons in a variety of scenes, renditions of classical paintings and the artist’s own imagi- native settings, along with other colorful, often humorous works. Booths showcasing work by local artists will be set up in a once-a-month art market setting.
The Artists’ Gallery celebrates all of the artists involved in the co-op. During the First Friday ArtWalk many artists are available to discuss their work and meet art en- thusiasts. Northern Arizona University’s Art Department is celebrating the hard work, in- spiration and creativity of graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students at the Beasley Art Gallery. “The Bachelor of Fine Arts Show” will be on display through December 18, with gallery hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10AM-5PM.
