December 2015: Transcendent Outcomes
This holiday season gets a boost with Mercury staying direct and out of shadow phase for most of the prime shopping times. To most benefit from this, finish shopping
by December 19. The festive mood of Sagittarius allows for more flexibility during the roadblocks earlier in the month. Then as first Mercury, then the Sun move out of sunny Sadge and into Capricorn, the challenges of the rest of the month take on more of a somber turn. Winter Solstice time, the days around when the Sun moves into Capricorn (December 21), brings a natural time to turn inward. Honoring this natural cycle helps to soften the edge of some testy pair-ups. External focus and busy- ness is the theme of the earlier part of the month, then a quick fading to dark, quiet and internal occurs later in the month. December 20 marks the beginning of the Mercury retrograde shadow period, further reiterating the descent into retrospect. Challenging angles are matched and surpassed by brighter ones with major potentials for transcendent outcomes. To achieve these outcomes, when you butt up against the same old problem or situation, do something different this time from the perspective of a bird’s eye view, the greater picture, and watch the magic.
CHECK OUT MORE DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS:
** Note that often the effects of planetary transits are felt before or after the actual day that the transit occurs.
December 1 — Mercury in Sagittarius Trine Uranus in Aries — This is a great time for important meetings, social events, internet-related projects, things related to groups or teams, and community or humanitarian efforts.
December 6 — Mars in Libra Square Pluto in Capricorn — This aspect happens now for the second time this year; the first was March 9-15. When these two rowdy planets get together in a difficult angle, aggression and anger run high. Egos flare out of control. Avoid bringing up touchy topics in the days surrounding this transit and for anything that absolutely needs to be discussed make sure your presentation is without charge, as any charge will likely be matched and surpassed. This second experience of the transit this year has some support through a favorable angle with Mars to the Sun. This brings the potential for a lighter experience, especially if you can maintain some flexibility in views instead of the narrow point of view that invites antagonism.
December 8 — Sun in Sagittarius Trine Uranus in Aries — Refreshing new and different ways of looking at things rush in now. Lively energy surrounds openness and flexibility. Creativity sparkles and solutions or innovations abound.
December 10 — Mars in Libra Opposing Uranus in Aries — Shocking behavior and events mark this planetary line-up. Nervous energy buzzes and is difficult to control or channel. Jolts to the physical body can occur making it prudent to be hyper-vigilant while mobile.
December 10-11 — Venus in Scorpio Trine Neptune in Pisces — This is a beautiful, harmonious, highly romantic pair up. Potentials for emotional connections are extra strong now.
December 11 — New Moon at 19° of Sagittarius —
New Moons bring new openings in the area of life ruled by the sign of the occurrence, in this case Sagittarius. This is also a fantastic time to plant seeds in Sadge- related areas. Sagittarius rules teaching, learning, religion,

studies, international affairs, different countries, different languages, different cultures, long-distance travel and solution-focused thinking.
December 14 — Sun in Sagittarius Square Jupiter in Virgo — Unwelcome restrictions accompany this transit. Either life is asking more than you feel you can give or you are hoping for more from life than it is delivering.
December 17 — Venus in Scorpio Sextile Pluto in Capricorn — This transit heralds a time of happy discoveries about self, relationships and finances. A sextile requires action to fully activate its potentials. Look out and seize the perfect moments that will likely arise.
December 20 — Mercury in Capricorn Square Uranus in Aries — Inconsistencies in thoughts and expression run rampant now. There are increased odds of being misunderstood. It is best to avoid presentations or other sharing of information now. Great insights can come in now with quiet surroundings and minimal distractions.
December 21 — Winter Solstice — This day of least light (at least in the Northern Hemisphere) is wonderful for quiet meditation. Celebrations involving candles or other fire sources herald the return of the light after this still moment of most darkness.
December 24 — Venus in Scorpio Sextile Jupiter in Virgo — This transit brings opportunities to expand relationships, finances and aesthetics. This 60° angle asks you to take action to maximize outcomes.
December 25 — Full Moon at 3° of Cancer — This tricky full moon is loaded! Beyond the completion, fruition and drama in home or family-related experiences, there are also several other aspects occurring simultaneously. An opposition to Pluto can bring a major power struggle. A trine to Neptune can bring harmonious resolution after the drama. Also, occurring concurrently, additional aspects with Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus event (see below).
December 25 — Mercury in Capricorn Trine Jupiter in Virgo — Sandwiched in between several dramatic events, this sweet aspect can bring great ideas and expression. Perhaps amidst family holiday drama you can duck away, for a walk or into a quiet room, and let creative genius flow.
December 25 — Uranus Direct in Aries — This ruler of shock and awe goes direct bringing revolutions, uprisings, chaos and great change. To better understand the power of this planet, think back to when it was making its first move into Aries after 84 years. At this time in 2010, there was the BP oil spill. Then Uranus retrograded out of Aries until March 2011, at which time we experienced the tsunami that instigated the nuclear disaster at Fukushima. Now as the sleeping giant awakes, we can expect more wake-up calls.
December 29 — Sun in Capricorn Sextile Neptune in Pisces — This transit brings the merging of the ethereal and the practical. Intuition, through dreams or hunches, could give clear guidance for tangible steps to resolve problems or improve circumstances.
